I’ve always been drawn to nature—climbing trees, making potions, and collecting snails as a kid! I always dreamed of working in the woods, but after studying Earth Science, I ended up teaching in London and completely lost that connection. My stress levels soared, and I felt disconnected from everything I loved. So, I decided to train as a Forest School leader, and that’s when my passion for being outdoors and creative in nature came flooding back.
Becoming a Ranger was the next step, and it was incredible to help others connect with their local green spaces. But the real turning point was when I went on a medicinal herbal walk—I was amazed by how many wild plants were edible or medicinal. That walk lit a fire in me to keep learning and pass on this knowledge, especially since so much of it has been lost over the years.
I trained as a bushcraft practitioner, led Green Gym sessions, and taught environmental education, but it was the creative side of things that really grabbed me. That's why I started Kindful and Wild—to combine my love for foraging, crafting, and mindfulness and share these therapeutic practices with others.
Foraging and creating with nature is calming and inspiring—it helps you slow down, find your calm, and connect with the world around you. It brings me so much joy to see people leave my sessions feeling refreshed, inspired, and eager to keep exploring.
Foraging isn't just about gathering wild ingredients—it’s about awakening your senses to the natural world. By learning to identify and harvest wild plants, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of nature’s abundance and how it can nourish both body and soul. From wild garlic in spring to berries in autumn, each season brings its own treasures, and there’s nothing more rewarding than turning them into delicious, nourishing foods.
Foraging helps you slow down, observe your surroundings, and appreciate the small details you might have otherwise missed. It also fosters a connection with the environment and offers a sense of accomplishment as you learn and apply new skills.
When you create something with your hands, especially using natural materials, it brings a sense of calm and joy. Crafting with nature allows you to express your creativity while staying present in the moment. Whether you’re making natural inks, printing with flowers, or crafting wildflower seed hearts, these activities help you tune into the natural rhythms of the season while creating something meaningful.
Crafting with natural materials engages your creativity, helps you practice mindfulness, and leaves you with beautiful, handmade creations. It’s also a wonderful way to disconnect from daily stress and immerse yourself in a more mindful, slow-paced activity.
At Kindful & Wild, connection is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s deepening your relationship with nature, strengthening your connection with yourself through mindfulness, or sharing experiences with like-minded people, connection is what makes these moments meaningful. Our foraging walks and workshops offer opportunities to bond with others while slowing down and appreciating the world together.
Being in nature brings a sense of calm and grounding, while connecting with others during these experiences fosters a supportive community. Through these shared moments, you’ll deepen your connection with the earth and with yourself, gaining a greater sense of clarity and presence.
